Riding with determination through a vast desert landscape, three figures represent the honored companions entrusted with these missions:

• Hâtib ibn Abi Balta‘a to Egypt (Mukawqis),
• Abdullah ibn Hudhafa as-Sahmi to Persia (Khosrow II),
• Dihyah al-Kalbi to Byzantium (Heraclius).

Historical accounts also record that a companion named Sa‘d carried the message as far as China, a detail preserved in Chinese archives.
